Teaching Tolerance of the Southern Poverty Law Center will ship free resources (even overseas) for schools to use to teach tolerance and civil rights.While there is a definite U.S. slant, the songbook and cd are excellent as is the dvd to help schools introduce the teaching of tolerance as explicit component of the curriculum.

Batchelder Award is an American award for books originally published in a language other than English and translated

Marsh Award is a British award given for books originally published in a language other than English and translated

Jane Addams Award given to books that promote social justice and equality

Pura Belpre Award for Latino/Latina authors and illustrators

Moonbeam Awards are given by the independent publishers on-line magazine and there are categories for multiculturalism

Skipping Stones Magazine Awards are given in various categories including multi-cultural and international children’s literature

Africana Awards are given to books that portray a balanced view of African countries and culture as well as promote excellence in children’s literature

Hedwig Anuar Award is given to promote excellence in children’s literature published in Singapore

Feng Zikai Chinese Children’s Picture Book Award is given to recognize, encourage and promote the creation of Chinese language picture books for children
